Leidos is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to a team of engineers and scientists in a research and development environment focused on the development, deployment, operation, and sustainment of weapon systems for the Department of Defense.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of providing senior technical leadership and product vision in the development of system architectures, trade studies, issue prevention, identification, and resolution. They will also have experience collaborating with other senior leaders in the organization to implement best practices and continuous improvement activities.

This role requires strong technical expertise in weapon systems design, integration, testing, and operations, as well as experience with large programs, technology assessments, trade studies, analysis of alternatives, and creating capability roadmaps. The successful candidate will also have excellent written and spoken communication skills, as well as experience leading the development of solutions for proposals, writing white papers, and RFI responses.

About Our Team

We are a team of approximately 100 scientists, engineers, technicians, drafters, fabricators, and support staff with backgrounds in advanced physics, electrical and mechanical engineering, electromagnetics, lasers, and high-power microwaves. We have worked with government laboratories for over three decades to push the limits of the state-of-the-art in several high-tech fields and continue to do so on several programs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers and scientists in a research and development environment
  • Develop system architectures, trade studies, and issue prevention, identification, and resolution strategies
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders in the organization to implement best practices and continuous improvement activities
  • Lead the development of solutions for proposals, write white papers, and respond to RFI requests
  • Provide subject matter expertise in weapon systems design, integration, testing, and operations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology or related technical area
  • 15+ years of total experience including training, qualifications, experience, and clearances to accomplish tasks identified above
  • Proven track record of critical thinking and developing creative problem solutions with a focus on outcome-based delivery of meaningful innovations
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Experience identifying, developing, and implementing engineering change solutions with new technology and solutions on a large enterprise/national scale
