Job Summary:

Covenant Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Acute Renal and Pulmonary unit. As an LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, working collaboratively to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate patient admissions and develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with the RN team.
  • Implement patient and family education, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Perform and prioritize nursing care tasks, adhering to regulatory standards and hospital policies.
  • Accurately follow nursing plans of care and medical orders, working under the direction of a RN.
  • Document patient interventions and responses in a timely and concise manner.
  • Recognize and report changes in patient conditions to the RN Team Leader.
  • Participate in unit-specific quality assurance activities and patient care conferences.
  • Collaborate with the infection control nurse to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and personnel.
  • Assist in orienting new employees or students to unit routines.
  • Administer IV venipuncture and parenteral fluids according to established hospital protocols.
  • Perform advanced patient care treatments as approved and per hospital protocol.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards, completing required education assignments annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Currently licensed by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • No prior experience as a LPN/LVN is required.
