Pediatric Emergency Medicine Director of Research

The Duke Department of Pediatrics at Duke University Medical Center seeks a Director of Research to advance science, training, and clinical service delivery across the Duke School of Medicine and the Duke Health System. The ideal candidate will have an MD/DO degree and a demonstrated commitment to research, education, or clinical service. Additional degrees such as MPH, MS, or PhD are preferred but not required. A mid-career researcher at Associate Professor or higher level is preferred. The Director will promote and participate in methodological and applied clinical research, conduct or oversee their proposed research, and apply for and win intra- and extra-mural funding. They will also provide clinical services in the Duke University Hospital Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement research strategies to advance the department's vision
  • Collaborate with investigators, educators, and clinicians across the organization
  • Conduct or oversee research projects, including data management and analysis
  • Apply for and win funding for research projects
  • Present research findings internally and externally

Requirements:

  • MD/DO degree and demonstrated commitment to research, education, or clinical service
  • Additional degrees such as MPH, MS, or PhD preferred but not required
  • Mid-career researcher at Associate Professor or higher level preferred
