Job Summary:

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Special Services Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating students with exceptionalities, developing and implementing individual educational plans, and providing consultative services to teachers and parents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate students in the areas of neuromuscular, sensory processing, perceptual motor skills, postural reflexes, self-care, and needs for adaptive devices and equipment.
  • Develop and implement individual educational plans geared to the student's physical and psychosocial needs.
  • Maintain working relationships with classroom teachers and parents to ensure follow-through of therapy goals in the classroom and home.
  • Participate in meetings pertinent to the student's therapy needs.
  • Provide consultative services to teachers and parents pertaining to occupational therapy and maintain documentation of student performance and progress.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Licensure with the NM PED and Board of Examiners Licensure in New Mexico.
  • Satisfied all requirements as set forth by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc.

Work Hours:
Work hours are established in employment contract. Additional work hours may be required as scheduled by School Principal.
