Houseperson Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Houseperson to join our team at Hollywood Casino Tunica. As a Houseperson, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our hotel and casino facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport cleaning equipment up and down ramps
  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets
  • Mop, scrub, rinse, and polish hard floors
  • Count and distribute clean linen to Room Attendant carts and linen closets
  • Pick up used linen from Room Attendant carts and drop it down the chute to be collected by the laundry company
  • Move, rearrange, and clean furniture
  • Wash mirrors and windows
  • Maintain the housekeeping linen room on each floor, restocking with linen and supplies as needed
  • Operate and control mechanical equipment, including rotary machines, blowers, and back vacuums
  • Recognize and use appropriate chemicals
  • Assist Room Attendants with stripping beds, emptying trash, bringing fresh linen, and other related responsibilities
  • Set up guest rooms as needed
  • Deliver guest amenities, such as pillows, additional beds, blankets, and more
  • Maintain and clean all office spaces throughout the property and hotel public areas
  • Maintain the cleanliness of guest room hallways
Requirements:
  • Present a well-groomed appearance
  • Perform duties with a sense of urgency
  • Work as a team with other employees
  • Ability to use and control various mechanical equipment
  • Ability to work around dust
  • Ability to maneuver in small, limited spaces
  • Ability to transport all supplies to and from work areas
  • Ability to work in areas containing second-hand smoke
  • Ability to operate equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, mop, and broom
  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and handle chemical fumes and airborne particles
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to walk, stand, and work on hands and knees for long periods of time
  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations, including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs.
