Position Summary
Willdan Energy Solutions (WES) is seeking a qualified Engineer II to join our dynamic team. WES is recognized nationally for its excellence in energy engineering, serving a diverse clientele that includes utilities, municipalities, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, hospitality sectors, and private enterprises. The Engineer II will play a crucial role in delivering technical functions that ensure the successful execution of client programs and projects, adhering to industry best practices while providing essential support to internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
The Engineer II will:
- Evaluate clients' energy and sustainability objectives, crafting both short-term and long-term solutions, and producing reports that effectively communicate strategies to stakeholders.
- Lead and manage energy data processing, facility assessments, field inspections, and the development of software tools, alongside evaluating the life-cycle performance of various solutions.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, managing requests with diligence and attention to detail.
- Balance multiple technical tasks, including project site assessments, energy audits, engineering analyses, cost estimations, and the production of deliverables.
- Oversee project management, ensuring all technical aspects are addressed, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and quality assurance, while striving to exceed client expectations.
- Coordinate and participate in meetings with clients and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Support business development initiatives related to energy and sustainability projects.
- Mentor and train junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in energy, sustainability, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer License is preferred but not mandatory.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, or facilities energy management.
- Strong understanding of energy conservation, electrification, and decarbonization principles.
- Proficient in developing client-facing energy and sustainability planning reports.
- Ability to lead and coordinate project tasks effectively, engaging with both senior experts and junior engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
