Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Duke Primary Care. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and supporting our healthcare team. Your responsibilities will include taking medical histories, recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take medical histories and record vital signs
  • Explain treatment procedures to patients
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
  • Assist medical and nursing staff during examinations and procedures
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
  • Perform basic laboratory tests in the clinic/office
  • Take electrocardiograms
  • Remove sutures/staples and change sterile and non-sterile dressings
  • Document patient information in the medical record
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent and certification as a Medical Assistant. You will also need to have at least one year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting. Additionally, you will need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
