We are currently seeking dedicated Care/Medication Technicians to join our team.

The role of Care Giver/Qualified Medication Assistant involves delivering compassionate hands-on care and emotional support to residents while ensuring a safe and nurturing atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

Care Giver Duties:

  • Manage a specific group of residents during your shift, ensuring their safety and well-being through regular checks.
  • Monitor and document any changes in residents' conditions, including physical and behavioral observations.
  • Respond promptly to security alerts and resident calls.
  • Inform supervisors of any increased care requirements for residents.
  • Assist with continence management and maintain sanitation standards in resident suites and common areas.
  • Serve and collect food trays, noting any refusals or changes in appetite.
  • Keep residents' rooms and workspaces clean and organized.
  • Adhere to hygiene and health standards in all care practices.
  • Support residents in maintaining their independence and dignity.
  • Engage residents in daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Encourage participation in life enrichment activities.
  • Provide assistance to all visitors, including family members and team members.
  • Handle resident laundry as required.

Medication Technician Responsibilities:

  • Review service plans to gather essential information about residents.
  • Assist and observe medication administration, adhering to the Six Rights of Medication Pass.
  • Document medication administration accurately, including refusals or missed doses.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident information, especially concerning medications.
  • Report any resident concerns to the Nurse or Health Care Coordinator.
  • Restock the medication cart after each medication pass.
  • Assist in verifying medications, regardless of the packaging system used.
  • Count narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse at the beginning of each shift.
  • Ensure the Medication Room and related areas are clean and organized.
  • Participate in the development and updates of Service Plans.
  • Record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
  • Report any occupational exposures to hazardous materials immediately.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred certification as a Qualified Medication Assistant.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred.
  • Previous experience in senior care is preferred.
