About the Role

The Highlands at Harbor Springs is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ski Patrol Team Member to join our team. As a Ski Patrol Team Member, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our guests and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mountain Safety: Monitor mountain areas for injured, lost, or reckless skiers and snowboarders, and for skiing hazards; provide first aid and other necessary assistance to skiers and snowboarders.
  • Trail Maintenance: Perform various trail maintenance tasks, including checking trails for hazards, installing new or replacing down roping or fencing, and opening and closing trails properly.
  • Emergency Response: Administer emergency care/first aid to injured patrons, including skiers and snowboarders; assess condition of and stabilize patient, render appropriate treatment, such as wound care, splinting and stabilization, transport to base area in a toboggan, if necessary.
  • Communication: Use phones and radios to transmit and receive operational and emergency information; handle and prioritize multiple simultaneous communication demands.
  • Customer Service: Answer questions, give directions, and provide exceptional customer service to guests.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience working in a multi-tasking environment with telephones, radios, and computers; experience working as a Ski Patroller; experience working in the customer service or hospitality industry; experience in healthcare, especially in the emergency setting.
  • Certifications: Holds EMT, WFR, OEC certification or greater at time of hire; within the first 2 seasons, attains and maintains current Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) certification.
  • Physical Demands: Lifts and carries up to 10 lbs. in various forms; up to 60 lbs. for Nonessential functions; moves safely across floors that may be wet or slippery due to the active winter work environment.
