This role is essential to REI's success by minimizing and managing losses (including theft and fraud from both customers and employees) while enhancing the safety and security of our team and merchandise within a designated retail location. Key responsibilities include: (i) assisting in the training of store management and staff on Asset Protection protocols; (ii) maintaining a visible presence to deter theft and safeguard both assets and personnel; (iii) collaborating with the Market Manager of the Asset Protection department to recommend and implement strategies to address loss prevention and security concerns. This position embodies and promotes REI's core values and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • At least 3 years of experience in security, including proficiency with CCTV systems, within a retail environment associated with a national brand (or equivalent experience).
  • Understanding of local regulations regarding theft, shoplifting, and apprehension procedures.
  • Ability to utilize strong analytical and critical thinking skills to independently solve problems and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proven capability to effectively communicate knowledge, information, and skills to others through both in-person and virtual training sessions.
  • Familiarity with PC applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; adept at building relationships with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.

Base Pay Range:
