About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Roadway Project Engineer to join our team at Lochner. As a key member of our infrastructure services team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing transportation-related infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply engineering principles to design and develop freeways, interchanges, roadways, and other transportation-related infrastructure
  • Direct and/or perform engineering calculations from preliminary to final design
  • Develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential conflicts
  • Perform and coordinate plan reviews to ensure accuracy and quality of work
  • Manage and maintain project documentation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 4-8 years of experience in roadway design
  • North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within six months
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
