Key Responsibilities:

Oversee Daily Kitchen Operations: Manage ordering, inventory oversight, menu development, cost management, and staff scheduling while providing effective leadership to the kitchen team.

Assess Labor Costs: Ensure appropriate staffing levels while effectively managing kitchen labor expenses.

Direct Culinary Program: Supervise the complete range of our culinary offerings, including daily meals, private functions, and special events.

Menu Development and Innovation: Spearhead the creation of new dishes and seasonal menus, ensuring alignment with our brand and customer expectations.

Staff Supervision and Training: Assign shifts based on staff strengths, delegate tasks efficiently, and provide continuous training to both new and existing team members.

Maintain Kitchen Environment: Ensure a safe, comfortable, and high-performing kitchen atmosphere.

Collaborate with Front-of-House Staff: Work closely with front-of-house teams to reduce food wait times and uphold high service standards.

Publish Shift Schedules: Prepare and distribute shift schedules at least three weeks in advance, managing labor costs, monitoring overtime, and assisting with time-off requests.

Inventory Control: Order and maintain optimal food inventory levels while minimizing waste.

Cost Analysis: Regularly review and update Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) using inventory and costing software.

Daily Guidance and Oversight: Provide ongoing leadership and support to kitchen staff, staying informed on team activities and proactively addressing issues.

Kitchen Cleanliness and Maintenance: Ensure kitchen hygiene and coordinate routine equipment upkeep.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role encompasses the entire employment lifecycle of kitchen staff, including recruitment, training, management, and separation.

Additional Duties: Perform any other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a chef or in a comparable role in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of kitchen experience and at least 2 years in a leadership position.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Expertise in menu development and the ability to innovate with new dishes.
  • Thorough understanding of kitchen operations, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a leadership capacity.
  • Proficiency in inventory and costing software.
