Overview/Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Risk Management Framework process for all client-managed systems, networks, and enclaves across all security domains; ensure the validity and accuracy of all associated documentation; assist remote sites as necessary.
- Facilitate the centralization of A&A files/documentation and maintain a comprehensive library; ensure the validity and integrity of all systems.
- Create, update, and remove entries in databases used for tracking system and network compliance.
- Ensure that all Information Assurance (IA) systems are thoroughly documented with Configuration Management processes to maintain the security accreditation status of systems/sites, including reviewing current documentation and site architectures while coordinating with sites to ensure accuracy.
- Participate in and support all assessment and authorization (A&A) efforts for systems, networks, and applications in accordance with DoD and IC requirements.
- Coordinate assessment metric submissions.
- Provide direct support in developing A&A related systems bodies of evidence following current NIST, ICD, and DIAD guidance, utilizing the government-provided A&A tool (i.e., XACTA).
- Conduct security engineering assessments of proposed IT solutions.
- Collaborate with both internal and external systems administrators, configuration management, and network engineers to ensure proper configuration and adherence to security standards during deployment actions.
- Act as Security Controls Assessors for formal Security Test and Evaluation, conducting Security Certifications of systems/networks/sites, assessing security control compliance, and providing guidance on remediation and mitigation of identified vulnerabilities.
- Offer guidance on the application of security policy, identifying security requirements, and providing technical guidance for satisfying those requirements, while reviewing and determining the adequacy of required documentation.
- Develop all supporting test reports and artifacts, plan and action milestones (POA&Ms) documenting open findings, prepare formal authorization packages, and oversee the resolution of POA&Ms while maintaining assessment and authorization enterprise schedules and metrics.
- Support the management and maintenance of assessment and authorization repositories.
- Conduct security assessments at remote sites with collateral, including but not limited to, NIPR/SIPR and/or TS/SCI AIS under the client's purview.
