Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Youth Justice team in Waukesha County. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping youth and families in need.


Job Responsibilities

  • Counsel and support youth and families in crisis, providing guidance and resources to help them overcome challenges
  • Develop and implement case plans to address the unique needs of each family, working closely with other agencies and community partners
  • Conduct assessments and make recommendations for services and interventions, prioritizing the best interests of the child
  • Collaborate with schools, mental health providers, and other community agencies to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to youth and family services
  • Provide education and training to youth and families on topics such as trauma-informed care, healthy relationships, and life skills
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and research in the field of youth justice and social work

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, or a related field
  • Valid Wisconsin social work certification within six months of employment
  • One year of professional social work experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Strong case management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple cases and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances
  • Strong commitment to the values of Waukesha County, including teamwork, innovation, and a focus on equity and inclusion
