Job Overview

The Foster Care Licensing Coordinator plays a crucial role in the recruitment and certification of Foster and Adoptive Parents. This position involves strategizing territories, enhancing target demographics, formulating outreach plans, establishing connections with potential caregivers, and promoting awareness of the community's need for supportive families.



Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in proactive recruitment and community awareness initiatives to attract prospective foster and adoptive parents.
  • Design and execute strategic recruitment plans aimed at identifying and certifying qualified candidates, while maintaining a robust pipeline of both active and passive candidates for future training and certification.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from potential foster parents.
  • Develop targeted marketing strategies to support general and child-specific recruitment efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with all agency and state licensing regulations for foster parents.
  • Facilitate the certification process for foster parents, including the completion of necessary documentation.
  • Conduct interviews, background checks, and home assessments to evaluate the suitability and safety of placements.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records for foster parents.
  • Assist in the matching process of youth with foster families based on individual needs and family strengths.
  • Uphold professional boundaries and confidentiality in accordance with agency policies and regulations.
  • Participate in required meetings and collaborate with community providers to enhance referral sources.
  • Support the treatment team, including case managers and therapists, to ensure the needs of youth are met and placements remain stable.
  • Monitor the safety and well-being of youth in care, identifying any signs of abuse or neglect.
  • Travel as necessary to attend recruitment events and affiliate locations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of corrective action plans for foster parents in collaboration with supervisors.
  • Provide culturally respectful services that honor each family's background and identity.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of foster parent records and facilitate monthly meetings and training sessions.
  • Visit children in homes regularly to ensure their well-being.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive files for each child, completing necessary reports.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in a Child Placing Agency or similar organization.
  • Preferred experience in Resource Development and Foster Parent Recruitment.
  • Experience in marketing, fundraising, or event coordination is advantageous.
  • Experience in full-cycle recruiting in a professional environment is preferred.
  • Completion of relevant state training and certification is required.
  • Strong understanding of recruiting strategies, including the use of social media.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage with potential candidates and transform leads into licensed caregivers.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven project management and client retention abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving recruitment objectives.
  • Critical thinking skills and sound judgment are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
