Virtual Child Therapist Position

Growing Young Minds Counseling, a pioneering virtual child mental health practice in Columbia, MD, seeks a compassionate and skilled Child Therapist to join our team.

Hourly Rate: $50.00 per hour (fee for service)

About the Opportunity

This is an excellent chance for a motivated and empathetic Counselor to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families through virtual therapy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virtual therapy sessions with children and adolescents to address various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals, incorporating evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and evaluation of clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other professionals involved in the child's care to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting session notes, treatment plans, and progress reports in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with current research, trends, and best practices in child therapy, applying new knowledge to clinical practice.
Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Valid licensure as a therapist (e.g., LGPC, LCPC, LMFT, LCSW) in the state where services are provided.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in a therapeutic setting.
  • Proficiency in providing virtual therapy using secure and HIPAA-compliant platforms.
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients and their families.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping children and families.
  • Familiarity with diverse populations and cultural sensitivity.
  • Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality.
