Hydrogeologist Job Description

Montgomery & Associates (M&A) is seeking a highly skilled hydrogeologist to join our project team on a Superfund site located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

As a hydrogeologist, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing field investigations, including soil gas, groundwater, and indoor air monitoring and sampling events. You will also manage routine groundwater monitoring programs, coordinate well permitting, drilling, design, construction, testing, sampling, rehabilitation, and abandonment from the office and field.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing field investigations, including soil gas, groundwater, and indoor air monitoring and sampling events
  • Managing routine groundwater monitoring programs
  • Coordinating well permitting, drilling, design, construction, testing, sampling, rehabilitation, and abandonment
  • Managing M&A field teams and subcontractors
  • Interacting with regulatory agencies, municipalities, and water suppliers
  • Analyzing data and preparing reports
  • Directing, training, and mentoring junior staff

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrology, or engineering; graduate degree preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional consulting experience
  • Professional registration (P.G.) preferred
  • Professional experience investigating, testing, and conceptualizing subsurface hydrogeologic conditions and contaminant fate and transport
  • Working familiarity with pumping tests, groundwater models, groundwater remediation technologies, and CERCLA regulations
  • Professional experience with vapor intrusion and indoor air investigations and remediation a plus
  • Project management experience
  • Effective communication skills including technical writing and presenting technical work in large group settings
  • Ability to pass background check and drug test if requested
  • Current and valid driver's license
  • Ability to legally work and reside in the United States
