Job Description

Overview

The Salvation Army Central Territory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team. As a Production Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our store's production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign, direct, and ensure completion of daily tasks for production/department team members, including housekeeping for assigned spaces.
  • Train new team members on production expectations and processes.
  • Provide quality control inspections to ensure that only the best product makes it to the floor.
  • Track and report production at scheduled times.
  • Participate in production processes as needed.
  • Proficiently use cash registers at locations that require.
  • Implement assigned strategies to meet product acquisition, production, and sales goals for the day/week/month.
  • Know the product acquisition, production, and sales goals.
  • Diligently implement product rotation processes.
  • Communicate with assigned personnel to place supply orders for next day's processing.
  • Support management with store maintenance and appearance.
  • Follow procedures for maintenance and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring that workspaces are prepared for the next day's production.
  • Look for ways to improve donor and shopper experience.
  • Communicate with Store Management regarding all facets of the store's operations, keeping them updated on all incidents and concerns for assigned areas.
  • Support management in creating a positive understanding of policies and procedures.
  • Direct complaints and criticism to management.
  • Support the protection of resources under their supervision.
  • Implement Product Control Procedures to prevent shrinkage through theft or spoilage.
  • Control property, utility, and product supply waste.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus X years of relevant experience.
  • Retail sales production and/or thrift store experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience following and giving direction.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel.
  • Basic computer skills, including but not limited to, the use of payroll programs and the ability to learn other programs or systems adopted by The Salvation Army ARC.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use basic math skills.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background test.

Supervisory Responsibility

Oversee production team members assigned by management, including paid staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries.

Travel

May be required to travel to various locations for work or training.

Working Conditions

The work environment for this position is a store environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. The environment may be dusty and may experience temperature fluctuations based on weather. May stand for extended periods.
