Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our pediatric gastroenterology team. As a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers, you will ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to patients and families, focusing on family-centered care.
  • Coordinate patient flow, review charts, and update records with current information.
  • Perform clinical procedures, including aseptic procedures, vital sign taking, and preparing patients for provider care.
  • Observe and report patient signs and symptoms, administer basic first aid, and assist with patient examination/treatment.
  • Operate medical equipment, collect routine laboratory specimens, and administer medication as directed by the provider.
  • Perform office procedures, including administrative duties, and act as a liaison between support services and clinical divisions.
  • Obtain authorizations for tests, therapies, and DME ordered by the provider.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required; Medical Assistant or equivalent training preferred.
  • Minimum three months of experience; American Heart Association BLS Certification required within three months of employment.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
