Charge Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at North Central Surgical Center, a leading hospital in Dallas, TX.
About the Role:The Charge Nurse will be responsible for the assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of safe and effective patient-centered care. This includes facilitating and mentoring others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as an RN in a hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit, with at least 1 year of supervisory experience. They will be able to make decisions based on nursing judgment, prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit, and possess strong communication skills, verbal and written.
Responsibilities:- Assess, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the delivery of safe and effective patient-centered care.
- Facilitate and mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.
- Continually assess unit needs to ensure adequate resources for current and upcoming shifts by collaborating with other departments, clinical and nonclinical, to coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times and uphold standards of practice by holding team members accountable for continued compliance adhering to professional guidelines for practice such as state board of nurses, American Nurses Association (ANA) professional standards of care, Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care.
- Assume additional responsibilities on weekend charge, including rounding on the ED staff and calling the Manager and Administrator on call regarding issues pertaining to risk, safety, physician complaints, staffing, clinical issues, and patient complaints.
- Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
- At least 5 years experience as an RN in hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit.
- At least 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
- RN, current in the State of Texas.
- BCLS certification required, ACLS and PALS certification required within 3 months of hire.
