Job Title: Adjunct Faculty

Job Summary:

The Department of Engineering and Technology at Texas A&M University-Commerce is seeking qualified applicants for part-time adjunct faculty appointments. The appointments are for one semester, and positions are open until filled. The appointment can be renewed as dictated by student demand and departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach up to seven semester credit hours within the required discipline of Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and/or Technology Management.
  • Develop and manage the class syllabus, ensuring it meets department and college standards.
  • Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments.
  • Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
  • Assist/mentor students as needed.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching field from an ABET-accredited U.S. institution of higher learning with a major field of study in construction engineering, civil engineering, construction management, industrial engineering, systems engineering, engineering management, technology management, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials.
  • College or university teaching experience.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Prior relevant industry experience.
  • Online or hybrid teaching experience.
