System Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced System Engineer to join our team at Omron Automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of complex robotics systems.

The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $120,000 per year, with an annual performance-based bonus program available. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 1 year of experience in testing and/or deploying robotics or complex hardware/software systems is required, with a strong sense of ownership and customer focus.

Key responsibilities include enabling our systems engineering process throughout the product development life cycle, driving technical execution of projects, leading cross-functional collaboration, defining high-level and detailed technical requirements, and coordinating test strategy.

Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills, excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills, and experience in script development and building automated test infrastructure are essential. Software skills in C++ or C# programming, PLC programming, Python or equivalent scripting language, Linux, Robot Operating System (ROS), Gaebo, MATLAB, Simulink, and developing kinematic models are also required.
