Maryland Environmental Service is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accounting Manager to join our Finance division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the Payroll and Accounts Payable Departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage a team of employees to ensure efficient processing of payroll and accounts payable
  • Process payroll and accounts payable transactions, including reconciliations and audits
  • Work closely with Human Resources and Procurement to ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Five years of accounting experience, including working with computerized accounting systems and one year of supervisory experience
  • Graduate level Accounting, Finance or Business Administration degree or CPA may be substituted for three years of experience
  • Previous experience in payroll/accounts payable or related experience is preferred
  • Valid driver's license with less than 5 points
