Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to lead our structural design project teams and create world-class designs for various projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting structural plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion, ensuring project needs and requirements are met.
  • Prepare structural equipment specifications, data sheets, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
  • Review structural vendor drawings, interface with suppliers, clients, and other engineering disciplines, detailers, and designers.
  • Participate in project schedule, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning, ensuring effective management of change orders.
  • Apply expert knowledge of structural concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the structural engineering services industry.
  • Develop non-standard design solutions for complex projects.
  • Quality review production drawings and project-related data to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD software.
  • Lead field inspections, installation, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
  • Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
  • Build effective relationships with clients, customers, and contractors, ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
  • Participate in sales and marketing efforts, identifying key pursuits.
  • Lead the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance.
  • Prepare and present project budgets and cost estimates, reporting project performance.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the structural engineering practice, mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers.
  • Ensure QA/QC process adherence and effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
  • Comply with company and site safety policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program, with 7 years of structural engineering experience, or equivalent.
  • Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures, strong knowledge of structural design codes, and strong computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience leading the discipline design for large projects, and ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications, and ability to travel.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
