Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Declassification Specialist to join our team. As a Declassification Specialist, you will oversee the process of declassifying documents related to litigation cases, such as civil or criminal cases. You will be responsible for recording the chronological order of events from beginning to end process, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the declassification process of documents related to litigation cases
  • Record the chronological order of events from beginning to end process
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in declassification decisions
  • Provide recommendations regarding the release of documents for Sponsor approval
  • Record decisions in the Sponsor's automated systems
  • Determine if a record contains Other Government Agency (OGA) equities and requires external referral or if the record requires non-routine handling
  • Manage the referral process
  • Organize documents in preparation for declassification review and correctly assign these items to the proper equity holder
  • Research previous declassification/release decisions as necessary to ensure accuracy and consistency

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act (PA), and Executive Order Mandatory Declassification Review (EOMDR) programs and Executive Order (EO) directive
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, as well as experience working in a team environment
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, such as in police enforcement, security, or court systems
  • Strong work ethic
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Strong proficiency in on-line tools such as Word, Excel, and Access, and other required systems
  • Strong multitasking ability, adaptable, and flexible skills
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly and be crossover eligible

Education/Skill Experience

A bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience; or a minimum of 6 full years of experience specific to skill must be reflected.

Benefits

Nightwing offers a competitive salary range of $64,000 - $128,000, depending on experience. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
