Position Summary:
This role involves professional responsibilities related to the evidence-based assessment of patient disabilities, as well as the planning and execution of physical therapy interventions. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, educating patients, families, and students, and contributing to the development and management of clinical programs. Active participation in continuing education, departmental initiatives, and community outreach is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic Assessment: Conduct both basic and advanced diagnostic evaluations in the field of Physical Therapy to address mobility disorders and associated impairments.
- Instruction: Mentor and oversee graduate Physical Therapy students and/or clinical fellows/residents. Contribute to the creation of innovative programs aimed at improving patient care. Act as a resource for other clinicians in specialized areas.
- Care Evaluation: Review and analyze diagnostic and therapeutic testing results to set patient objectives and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Identify anticipated patient outcomes and communicate essential information to ensure continuity of care.
- Service Implementation: Select and utilize contemporary and advanced methodologies to deliver high-quality rehabilitative services. Provide habilitation, rehabilitation, and maintenance for individuals with mobility-related challenges. Organize and prioritize care based on patient and family needs.
- Community Engagement: Serve as a resource for state health departments and health professionals in specialized fields. Present at local or state events, participate in community health screenings, and assist in developing new clinical programs to address emerging needs.
- Team Participation: Enhance the quality of clinical services through active involvement in departmental meetings and training sessions.
- Quality Assurance: Contribute to the quality of clinical services by maintaining accurate and reliable records of patient procedures and progress. Engage in quality improvement initiatives alongside clinical specialists and other healthcare professionals.
Additional Information:
Educational Qualifications:
● Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Licensure/Certification:
● Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the relevant state.
● Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience Requirements:
● No prior experience is necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Strong understanding of physical therapy practices and patient care.
