Job Overview:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for timely and precise maintenance and installation of various equipment types. This role adheres to all Field Modification Instructions and Instrument Service Information bulletins. Collaborating with seasoned Field Service Technicians, both on-site and remotely, the technician will gain insights into troubleshooting, repair, and installation techniques. The primary goal is to enhance customer satisfaction through exceptional service.


This position is remote but requires travel to customer sites and occasional work from a home office.

To provide effective customer support, candidates must be willing to travel.

Key Responsibilities:
Learn to perform timely and accurate preventative maintenance.

Assist experienced technicians with equipment installation.

Collaborate with seasoned technicians on basic troubleshooting and service repair tasks for designated equipment.

Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members and colleagues.

Develop skills to communicate with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.

Partner with customers to recommend value-added services that enhance their operational efficiency.


Stay updated on administrative tasks such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records promptly, ordering repair parts, and managing cycle times.


Utilize the escalation process as needed and work closely with regional and national support to define and implement corrective action plans to resolve customer issues promptly.

Act as a member of the account community for key accounts.


Engage effectively with commercial counterparts, identify potential sales leads, participate in sales opportunities such as contract renewals, and assist in promoting and implementing revenue programs.


Focus on customer needs and satisfaction while building and enhancing relationships with customers to become a perceived partner in their business.

Stay informed about competitor information and market trends.

Required Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 4 or more years of experience in servicing electronic equipment.

Experience with web applications and the Microsoft suite of products.

The successful candidate must pass a standard background check, including a post-offer drug test.

Additionally, during employment, the employee must comply with all customer access policies, including obtaining and/or providing proof of required immunizations and additional drug tests or background checks.


Special Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for extended periods.

Candidates must also be able to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and possess good hand and finger dexterity.

Specific vision abilities required for this role may include color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Must maintain a valid Driver's License.


Willingness to be available "after hours" or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage as necessary.


Desired Qualifications:
Ability to travel up to 35%, which may include overnight stays.
