At Polk Mechanical, we're seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team. As a Pipefitter, you'll play a crucial role in installing and maintaining piping systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine piping system requirements.
  • Assemble and install pipes, pipe supports, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Install pipes for steam, heating, cooling, and industrial production systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Essential Accountabilities:
  • Select pipe and materials according to job specifications.
  • Inspect worksites to determine obstructions and structural weaknesses.
  • Plan installation sequences to avoid obstructions and other construction activities.
  • Assemble and install various metal and nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings.
  • Join piping using threaded, caulked, wiped, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
  • Secure pipes to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers.
  • Install and maintain refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
  • Test piping systems for leaks.
  • Weld aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, and other materials.
Requirements:
  • Experience with pipefitting in the Mechanical and HVAC Industry.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with cutting, bending, and welding tools and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of the system or systems being installed.
  • Journeyman should have completed an apprenticeship or have four years of training experience.
