Technology Instructor

CABVI seeks a dedicated Technology Instructor to educate children and adults who are blind and visually impaired in computer and technology skills, enabling them to succeed in school, at home, and in the workplace.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $52,000 per year and includes opportunities for professional growth and development. The ideal candidate will remain current in technology advancements, including hardware and software, and be willing to learn assistive technology and applications for those with visual impairments.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistive Technology Manager to develop and implement technology training programs, workshops, and conferences that cater to the needs of individuals with visual impairments in residential, remote, and day programs. This may involve providing classroom instruction within the technology center, assisting with program participant recruitment, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure seamless delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remain current in technology advancements and be willing to learn new skills.
- Develop and implement technology training programs for children and adults with visual impairments.
- Collaborate with the Assistive Technology Manager to develop and conduct workshops, conferences, and staff training days.
- Provide classroom instruction within the technology center and assist with program participant recruitment.
- Continuously research advances in the technology field, new products, and applications.
- Attend trainings and meetings as needed to stay updated on industry developments.
Requirements:
- A minimum of an associate's degree in teaching, vocational training, technology, or education is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a teaching or training capacity is preferred.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills, along with the ability to work cooperatively with diverse personalities.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and knowledge of Google applications such as Docs and Sheets.
- Familiarity with mobile device applications, including iOS and Android, and willingness to learn new technology.
- Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
