Research Assistant Professor

This is a unique opportunity to join the University System of New Hampshire as a Research Assistant Professor in the Institute on Disability's Children's Behavioral Health team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the administration and leadership of the team, in collaboration with the current director. This includes supporting and developing local, state, and federal grants and contracts in children's behavioral health, creating a research agenda, strategic planning, membership on the IOD CBH Leadership Team, program evaluation, and engaging in training and technical assistance, as appropriate. The position will also involve teaching and oversight of undergraduate and graduate level interns.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement research projects and programs in children's behavioral health
• Collaborate with the current director to lead the Children's Behavioral Health team
• Support and develop local, state, and federal grants and contracts in children's behavioral health
• Create a research agenda and strategic plan for the team
• Participate in the IOD CBH Leadership Team
• Evaluate programs and services for the team
• Provide training and technical assistance as needed
• Teach and oversee undergraduate and graduate level interns
Requirements
• Earned doctorate in a related field (social work, psychology, education, public health, mental health, behavioral health, or related discipline)
• Demonstrated skills in planning, coordination, and administration of a major federally funded project
• Three or more years of experience in programs serving children, youth, and families in the behavioral health field, child welfare, or education
• Direct experience with children's system of care and youth transition preferred
• Must meet the university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Research Professor
Preferred Qualifications
• Documented experience successfully managing federal and/or state grants and contracts
• Documented record of external funding support through grants, contracts, and fee for service
• Demonstrated success in research design and data analysis, academic instruction, advising and mentoring graduate students, and providing service to the university and profession
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through research, service, teaching, or volunteerism
• High degree of self-motivation, initiative, and ability to work both independently and with diverse constituencies
• Willingness to travel, both regionally and nationally
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ongoing supervisory experience and high-level management skills
