Job Summary:

The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide psychotherapy, psychopharmacological therapy, and other evidence-based interventions to promote patient recovery and well-being.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, social work, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless care coordination and patient outcomes.
  • Document patient progress and treatment plans in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical staff bylaws.
  • Participate in peer review activities, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education programs to stay current with best practices in psychiatric care.

Requirements:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in psychology, psychiatry, or a related field.
  • Current licensure as a psychologist or psychiatrist in the state of Ohio.
  • Experience working in inpatient psychiatric settings, preferably with a focus on adult or geriatric populations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.
