Network Design Engineer II

Cox Communications is seeking a talented Network Design Engineer II to join the Hospitality Network engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate with the sales organization to address new RFPs, contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of hospitality network solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute detailed network implementations for new technology
  • Test and validate functionality of existing and new technologies
  • Support implementation of new services, systems, applications, and architectures
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure proper equipment installation and operation
  • Manage intermediate-level projects and ensure service delivery stays on target
  • Provide technical support and documentation to ensure network reliability and availability
  • Perform site assessments and develop budget-friendly proposals aligned with customer needs
  • Create wireless and wired network designs for medium to large-scale environments

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of transmission, switching, powering, grounding, mechanical, and cabling
  • Experience operating complex networks and services
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics capabilities
  • Experience in Ekahau wireless design software and Cisco and Aruba products
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment and travel up to 75%

Preferred:

  • BS/BA degree in related discipline, Certifications: NRS II, CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA
  • 3-5 years in the telecommunications industry
  • Experience leading projects to enhance network capability
  • Participation in SCTE and related certifications

Compensation:

USD 77,800.00 per year.
