Fire System Technician

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Fire System Technician to join our team. As a Fire System Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the Lead Fire Installer with conducting service, maintenance, and repairs on fire systems. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our customers receive the highest level of service and support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Fire Installer with conducting service, maintenance, and repairs on fire systems
  • Work closely with our team to ensure that our customers receive the highest level of service and support
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of fire systems and their components
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fire systems
  • Collaborate with our team to identify and resolve issues with fire systems

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Able to work away from home 2 weeks out of a month
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service
  • Able to work well with others
  • Self-starter who can eventually work with little to no supervision
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly
  • Basic computer skills – Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook) along with Smartphone skills
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and willing to work with scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet
  • Able to work flexible hours including alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer requirements
  • Able to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety guidelines and procedures
  • Able to participate and successfully complete the apprenticeship program
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test

Preferred

  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals and operational/product manuals
  • Understands the importance of providing quality service, inspection and technical installation support
  • Experience with hand tools
