We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Water/Wastewater Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to assist in the design and analysis of water distribution and wastewater collection systems. This role involves preparing engineering reports, calculations, and specifications while supporting project teams through all phases, from conceptual design to construction closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior engineers in designing and analyzing water distribution and wastewater collection systems
  • Prepare engineering reports, calculations, and specifications
  • Support project teams in delivering projects from concept through construction
  • Collaborate with engineers, technical staff, and clients to complete work on time and within budget
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and project teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater engineering principles, either through coursework or experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil3D or other design software is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
  • Valid Alaska Driver's License and a clean driving record

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or internships related to water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of hydraulic modeling and treatment systems is beneficial
  • Enthusiasm for working on projects that directly impact local and rural Alaska communities

Work Environment:

This position involves standard office work, including regular use of computers, phones, and office equipment. You may be required to sit for extended periods and occasionally perform fieldwork or inspections. Flexibility and occasional travel to project sites may be necessary. This role may involve lifting up to 40 lbs. as needed.
