Job DescriptionOverview

The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring safety on Webber Waterworks projects in Pflugerville, Texas. This role will involve office work on site to ensure compliance with company policy and federal/state guidelines.

Regular Job Duties
  1. Ensure a "Safety First" attitude throughout the project with all levels of management and operations.
  2. Communicate and enforce corporate and project-specific safety and health policies, as well as federal (OSHA), state, and local safety standards.
  3. Work closely with field supervision to plan complex safety aspects of the project, including critical lifts, traffic control, work plans, etc.
  4. Supervise, manage, and direct the selection, training, development, and appraisal of project safety personnel.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with the owner, owner's representative, Webber/PLW personnel, and public entities.
  6. Read, understand, and plan according to work specifications and contract responsibilities.
  7. Anticipate project conflicts, communicate preventative action plans, and implement solutions to avoid issues.
  8. Understand and plan work according to project plans.
  9. Oversight of subcontractors.
  10. Monitor and report safety incidents and reports.
  11. Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Job Requirements
  • CSHO or CSHT certification.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in managing construction safety.
  • Valid driver's license for frequent travel.
  • Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
  • Communication in Spanish (read, write, and speak) is a plus but not required.
  • Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
  • Exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind.
  • Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projects.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
