Overview
The Casting Manufacturing Engineer is pivotal in managing the production process of Aluminum Die Casting. Proficiency in Aluminum Die Casting methodologies is crucial for effective performance. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is required. The role involves overseeing the Die Casting capital budget to align with corporate ROI objectives and facilitating the launch of new products into the manufacturing workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set engineering objectives to enhance cost efficiency, product quality, delivery timelines, safety standards, and asset utilization within the Die Casting sector.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing practices in the Die Casting area.
- Develop and document processes for both new and existing Die Casting cells.
- Provide prompt feedback to the engineering team.
- Validate procedures and process controls for precision.
- Analyze scrap and defect metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate production schedules for the introduction of new products.
- Assist in formulating corrective action strategies for quality-related challenges.
- Implement enhancements to minimize errors.
- Oversee and sustain performance metrics on current production tasks.
- Optimize facility layouts to enhance workflow and space efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven ability to lead a team of technical professionals.
- In-depth knowledge of die casting processes is essential.
- Familiarity with Quality Standards and protocols.
- Strong project management and execution capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and provide constructive input.
- Competence in interpreting blueprints and GD&T.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written communication and organizational skills.
Work Environment:
- Combination of time spent on the production floor and in an office setting.
- This position requires on-site presence.
- Typical manufacturing conditions include elevated noise levels, high temperatures, proximity to moving machinery, and potential electrical hazards.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to use hands, communicate verbally, and move around.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- May need to lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision capabilities are necessary.
Requirements:
Experience in Aluminum Die Casting Engineering is essential.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and CAD/CAM software is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing-related discipline.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
