POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Manager is accountable for the execution of policies and procedures that ensure compliance with production quality benchmarks. This role involves monitoring and auditing processes, materials, and product evaluations against defined standards while performing ongoing assessments of quality discrepancies and variances. The manager will optimize operations to align with current and forthcoming regulatory mandates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guarantees the quality of products and processes by setting and enforcing quality benchmarks and testing materials and products.
- Implements industry best practices and process enhancements to improve product quality.
- Leads the deployment of strategic goals into organizational initiatives and KAIZEN team activities.
- Oversees daily continuous improvement efforts and ensures uniform application of lean methodologies across all departments.
- Ensures adherence to industry regulations and standards (e.g., ISO).
- Coordinates both internal and external quality system audits.
- Analyzes, resolves, and reports on quality-related issues, including customer feedback, product returns, purchasing inconsistencies, late deliveries, concession requests, and rework products.
- Collaborates effectively with customers, suppliers, team members, and support functions in a cooperative environment. Identifies the appropriate tools, methodologies, and timing for improvement initiatives to meet business goals.
- Manages departmental budgets in accordance with established policies and standards.
- Represents the organization at various internal and external events as required.
- Tracks, records, and maintains quality assurance metrics.
- Demonstrates mutual respect and trust towards colleagues, peers, and clients.
- Exhibits awareness of collective social responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, process improvement strategies, and the ability to adapt and implement new processes in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with ISO and QS systems, including related audits.
- Strong administrative, management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work in proximity to moving mechanical components.
- Potential exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Possible exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Potential exposure to high temperatures.
