About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to lead our Conveyor Group, serving customers who are automotive manufacturers and their suppliers. As part of this role, you will be responsible for conveyor controls system development and integration, while also serving as a team leader when necessary.

With 10+ years of experience in conveyor controls design and commissioning, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing customer specifications and scope of work to gain a thorough understanding of the project requirements
  • Completing project documentation (internal and customer)
  • Designing new and/or modifying existing controls systems (hardware and software)
  • Completing calculations (heat, power, voltage drop, etc.)
  • Obtaining customer approval of the new/modified designs
  • Specifying, obtaining customer approval, and purchasing materials and components
  • Coordinating tasks with other Engineers and support personnel
  • Coordinating with Project Management
  • Performing field checks
  • Coordinating with the panel shop to build electrical assemblies and panels
  • Panel shop validation
  • Installation support
  • Field commissioning and validation (De-bug, internal validation, customer validation, start-up and stand-by)
  • System as-built documentation
  • Internal and external training
  • Working with Project Management on bulletin and field order estimates
About You

To succeed in this role, you must be:

  • Focused on safety
  • A self-starter and problem solver who can perform with a minimum amount of supervision, pay attention to details, and be organized
  • Knowledgeable regarding national electrical codes and controls standards (NEC, NFPA, etc.), lockout-tagout, and automotive (assembly plant) industry standards
  • Mechanically inclined and able to analyze mechanical systems to provide a controls solution
  • Able to communicate effectively, work well with others, and be customer-focused
  • Able to monitor the budget and schedule while maintaining quality
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally when required
  • Able to work overtime when required to maintain the schedule

The estimated salary range for this position is $125,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
