Job Summary

As a Project Manager at Gestamp, you will provide strategic guidance to teams and project managers to ensure the efficient and reliable delivery of equipment, standards, and processes that meet the company's goals of continuous improvement, customer value, and employee integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Gestamp PRL H&S and OSHA safety requirements, as well as ISO/TS/Customer Quality systems and environmental requirements.
  • Apply GPCS and Team Center methodology and tools to manage projects effectively.
  • Oversee all aspects of ongoing programs, including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and financial controlling program activities to meet business case KPIs.
  • Ensure product quality meets or exceeds company standards and is delivered on time.
  • Address program roadblocks through functional managers and provide leadership for improvement processes.
  • Evaluate and develop launch leaders' knowledge and skills to become valuable assets.
  • Ensure production lines are ready to align with customer launch milestones.
  • Assist the leadership team with decisions concerning capacity, equipment, and process planning.
  • Stay current with the latest technology and trends in hot and cold metal stamping and assembly.
  • Implement best practices and support the Program Management group in evaluating new work and tooling.

Support Team Functions

  • Participate in Kaizen submittal and implementation, cross-training with others, problem-solving, and supporting operational metrics and meeting operational needs.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong people skills with a willingness to empower teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Clear understanding of Lean Principles and Tools
  • Personal computer skills with familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, and Gantt charts
  • Knowledge of project management principles and working knowledge of MS Office

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands to handle objects, tools, or controls
  • Occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
  • Travel may be required, including extended periods
  • May be required to work extended hours on occasion
  • Ability to handle the stress of a fast-paced environment and complex problem-solving
