Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at First Rate Excavate. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining heavy equipment, conducting pre-operational inspections, and executing excavation and grading tasks with precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Safely Operate Heavy Equipment: Ensure the safe operation of heavy equipment, adhering to company and industry standards.
  2. Conduct Pre-Operational Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-operational inspections to identify potential safety hazards and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  3. Execute Excavation and Grading Tasks: Execute excavation and grading tasks with precision and efficiency, following established safety procedures and guidelines.
  4. Collaborate with On-Site Teams: Collaborate with on-site teams to coordinate and prioritize tasks, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  5. Report Equipment Malfunctions: Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to the maintenance supervisor.
  6. Adhere to Environmental Regulations: Adhere to environmental regulations and company policies related to the responsible handling of materials and waste.
  7. Participate in Safety Meetings: Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay current with industry best practices and regulations.
  8. Maintain a Clean Work Area: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including equipment storage and maintenance areas and work trucks.
  9. Operate Heavy Equipment Safely: Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and actively contribute to a culture of safety excellence.
  10. Hold Required Certifications: Maintain a valid commercial driver's license and any required certifications for operating specific types of heavy equipment.
Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Heavy Equipment Operator Training: Completion of a recognized heavy equipment operator training program is a plus.
  3. Relevant Certifications: Hold relevant certifications/licenses for operating specific types of heavy equipment.
  4. On-the-Job Training: Participate in on-the-job training as required.
