Job Title: Battery & Charger Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Battery & Charger Technician to join our team at Watts Equipment Company Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial batteries and chargers, as well as performing planned maintenance on various makes and models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair V-force, Enersys, and other industrial batteries and chargers.
  • Perform planned maintenance on all battery and charger makes.
  • Travel to customer sites to install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on motive power equipment.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, including warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, and DOT Hazmat regulations.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Interact with customers and company personnel at all levels.
  • Provide high-quality service and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Function independently with minimal supervision.
  • Complete compliance and job-specific training.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in field support within the DC Power and Telecom industry.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and previous experience working with hand and power tools.
  • Able to read and write in English, with basic math skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in the Electrical related field, with a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electronic, or Electrical field.
  • 4-6 years of DC power installation experience.
  • Advanced understanding of DC Power and experience with test equipment and reading schematics.
  • Hands-on job experience and ability to work independently.

General Job Requirements:

  • Ability to travel overnight for product training and operate a forklift.
  • Must be able to pass the company's driving requirements.
  • Must be able to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able and willing to be on-call and work overtime.
