Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Neuro-Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our interventional radiology department, you will be responsible for operating angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, assisting with basic interventional and surgical procedures, and monitoring patients to ensure their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Operate angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, including biopsies, thoracenteses, and abscess drainages.
  • Assist with basic interventional and surgical procedures, receiving direction from attending and resident physicians.
  • Monitor patients and alert staff to life-threatening changes in patient status.
  • Apply the defibrillator and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation when required.
  • Identify and process images, ensuring they are of diagnostic quality.
  • Compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure ordered exam accuracy.
  • Post-process images as directed and accurately identify and label images.
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months, unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
