Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Neuro-Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our interventional radiology department, you will be responsible for operating angiographic equipment, assisting with basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competently operate angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, including biopsies, vascular stenting, and embolization.
  • Act as a scrub assistant on interventional and surgical procedures, receiving direction from attending physicians.
  • Monitor patients and alert staff to life-threatening changes in patient status, applying the defibrillator and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed.
  • Identify and process images, ensuring diagnostic quality, and assist with equipment maintenance.
  • Compare requisitions to physician orders, ensuring exam accuracy, and post-process images as directed.
  • Maintain accurate records and enter patient information into the radiology information system.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months (unless department leader determines it is not required).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced training beyond high school in radiologic technology.
  • Experience in interventional radiology or a related field.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. The incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance. The role may also involve exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids, requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
