We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Services team at Northwestern Medicine. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to identify their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Develop and implement individualized plans of care to address these needs and promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications to patients, ensuring accurate dosing and monitoring for potential side effects.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, communicate changes in patient status, and provide education to patients and families.
- Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and direct the work of patient care technicians, maintaining overall accountability for the care of assigned patients.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in emergency nursing.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited nursing program.
- License: Current Registered Nursing license issued by the State of Illinois.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of related RN experience in critical care or specialty units (ICU, SCN, ED) or one year of related experience in non-critical care or general units (med/surg, observation).
- Certifications: National Certification in area of specialty.
