We are seeking a skilled Transportation Expert - Supply Chain Specialist to join our team at Volt.

About the Role

This is a full-time contract position, with a duration of 3 months, located in Knoxville, TN. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, monitoring shipment status, and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery Management: Monitor pickup, in-transit, and delivery times to ensure on-time arrivals and proactively address any delays.
  • Shipment Tracking: Perform hyper-tracking of critical loads, update tracking information, and communicate delivery exceptions to customers.
  • Customer Communication: Effectively communicate with internal and external parties to secure accurate and timely updates on shipment status.
  • Schedule Coordination: Coordinate reschedules with carriers after confirmed missed pickups or deliveries.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Make customer delivery appointments using web sites, email, or phone calls.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze shipment data to ensure every load has a confirmed delivery appointment.
  • Operational Support: Provide coverage to operation teams by performing daily inbound and/or outbound shipment planning or execution in support of daily operations.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have experience in supply chain or logistics, with strong analytical and communication skills. A background in transportation or logistics is preferred but not required.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $24-$26 per hour, based on factors such as education, work experience, location, specific job duties, and certifications.
