Caregiver / Direct Support Professional / DSP / Weekdays

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver / Direct Support Professional to join our team at RHA Health Services. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and/or substance use needs to live their best lives.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional, you will provide support and assistance to individuals in their daily lives, helping them to achieve their goals and live independently. Your responsibilities will include:
- Promoting healthy living and preventing illness and accidents
- Increasing awareness of self-advocacy and supporting individual choice and decision-making
- Accompanying individuals to work, the movies, concerts, shopping, and other community outings
- Teaching independent living skills
- Providing transportation to appointments
- Fostering positive relationships within the community
- Promoting decision-making about living, work, and social relationships
- Assisting with personal care and bathing, helping around the home (laundry, cleaning, and decorating)
- Documenting the care you provide
- Providing education on human, legal, and civil rights
- Understanding diverse challenges of those living with disabilities and using effective advocacy strategies
- Connecting individuals with resources to further explore opportunities in their career, education, volunteerism, etc.
- Promoting effective communication
- Assisting in medication administration where state law allows
- Protecting confidentiality
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A High School Diploma or GED (Preferred (TN))
- At least 18 years of age
- A valid driver's license
