Construction Quality Assurance Specialist

General Summary
The Construction Quality Assurance Specialist (CQAS) plays a crucial role in ensuring that performance goals and standards are established and adhered to. This position involves identifying issues, recommending corrective measures, and following up to guarantee that projects meet satisfactory completion standards. The CQAS may perform site evaluations, collaborate with subcontractors or internal technicians, and support the project management team as directed.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of work completed to verify quality standards
- Maintain comprehensive records of inspections and certifications
- Evaluate maintenance processes for both preventative and corrective measures; provide recommendations based on findings
- Schedule and execute inspections and re-inspections to confirm resolution of identified issues
- Perform ongoing quality control inspections during active work phases
- Gather feedback through customer satisfaction surveys related to on-site work
- Compile monthly inspection data and prepare reports for management review
- Communicate findings and feedback from inspections to management to ensure adherence to contract requirements
- Facilitate training for supervisors and employees on company policies regarding quality control inspections
- Research and integrate quality-related information into company policies and procedures
- Be present on-site during standard working hours, with potential for off-hours work as necessary
- Monitor the work environment to identify and rectify non-compliance and unsafe practices
- Oversee the application of project and company policies and procedures
- Engage with project management to keep them updated on project statuses and report any adverse conditions
- Ensure that deficiencies are documented and that projects are not finalized until corrective actions are implemented
- Verify the effectiveness and timeliness of corrective measures
- Review documentation for accuracy and soundness of conclusions
- Oversee the implementation of client satisfaction measurement processes
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- At least three years of experience in maintenance, repair, construction, or a related field
- Fundamental understanding of mechanical systems and proficiency in construction management
- Background in facility operations and maintenance, construction, or a similar discipline
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Work Environment
Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Protective clothing and equipment may be required. Exposure to hazardous materials, high-pressure gases, and other environmental factors is possible. Physical demands include standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting objects as necessary. This role may involve navigating confined spaces and accessing elevated areas.
- Work in temperatures ranging from 10°F to 120°F
- Potential exposure to hazardous materials necessitating the use of safety equipment
- Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
