About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate GI Nurse Specialist to join our team at Mount Sinai Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the delivery of high-quality services.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, competent, and quality care to patients on the GI-Stepdown-10E unit. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based practices to promote optimal health outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality patient care through effective communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs, identifying opportunities for improvement in care delivery
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Prioritize patient care tasks, delegating as necessary to ensure efficient and effective care delivery
  • Educate patients and families about their care, promoting empowerment and self-management
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A degree in nursing from an accredited program (BSN or ADN)
  • Licensure as a registered nurse in New York State
  • Current certifications in BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS
  • Relevant experience in a hospital setting, preferably in a GI unit
