- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and prepare necessary reports, including logs and computer files, to support operational decisions.
- Meetings and Communication: Attend meetings, facilitate discussions, and maintain open communication with staff, management, and stakeholders.
- Standard Operating Procedures: Develop, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and GLWA policies.
- Performance Evaluations: Prepare performance evaluations of assigned team members, providing constructive feedback and coaching to support professional growth.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise all staff within the facility or functional unit, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
- Shift Work and On-Call Responsibilities: Perform shift work, including day, afternoon, night, weekend, and holiday assignments, and respond to after-hours emergencies and on-call responses.
- Education: Associate Degree in a related operational or functional field, such as Engineering, Chemistry, Accounting, or Human Resources, from an accredited college or university, or a combination of related work experience and education.
- Experience: Management and operational experience gained through progressively more responsible positions in the utility industry, with a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Professional Accreditation: Professional accreditation in a related operational or functional field.
- Licenses and Certifications: Licensed Master Plumber, Licensed Millwright, Licensed Pipefitter, or Licensed Boiler Maker.
- Water Distribution License: Licensed Water Operator - Water Distribution S License.
- Technical Skills: Understanding and ability to troubleshoot, repair, or replace vertical/horizontal pumps, valves (ball, cone, gate, sluice, etc.), including subsidiary equipment of pumps/valves such as cylinders, mechanical and packing seals.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. This position requires sitting and standing for prolonged periods, light to moderate lifting, reaching, pulling, and carrying. Manual dexterity and audiovisual/linguistic acuity are required. Work is performed in an office and field environment, with 25% office and 75% field time.
Other Requirements- Valid Driver's License: Valid State of Michigan Driver's license.
- Irregular Work Schedule: Ability to work irregular hours, commute to GLWA facilities and work sites, and respond to after-hours emergencies and on-call responses.
