The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing the hospital's supply chain, ensuring that all departments and units are fully stocked with the necessary medical supplies. This role involves supervising the inbound and outbound materials, overseeing the purchase and delivery of medical supplies, and placing delivery orders.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. The candidate should also have a working knowledge of medical supplies and at least 1 year of experience in healthcare.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing expenses by maintaining an accurate log of expenditures
- Establishing an inventory maintenance process that focuses on expiration dates, supply count, rate of refill, and cost
- Assisting in coordinating all inbound and outbound traffic to maximize cost-effectiveness
- Providing expert insight on supply chain solutions to C-Suite Executives and Department Heads
- Developing and maintaining client relationships through best-in-service customer care
- Leveraging vendor relations to negotiate and maintain best rates consistent with company policy and procedure
- Observing and adhering to company policies and procedures
